About The Position

This role is responsible for protecting the safety of patients, staff, and visitors by proactively identifying threats and responding to security incidents with a calm, decisive presence. The officer will lead complex investigations and exercise legal authority, including making arrests when necessary, to ensure the hospital remains a safe, law-abiding environment for care. This position also involves collaborating with external law enforcement agencies and internal clinical teams to coordinate emergency responses and provide expert testimony. Additionally, the officer will empower the hospital community by facilitating safety training and education, and manage critical mobile resources by operating and maintaining patrol vehicles safely.

Requirements

Law Enforcement credentialed from an Indiana agency obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Candidates must have a law enforcement certification and ability to use arrest authority powers at the hospital from their sponsoring agency.
ILEA Academy Certification is required.
