Requirements

  • High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Must be at least 18-years of age.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship.
  • Minimum of sophomore status.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred.
  • Curious and coachable, personable, and patient, action-oriented and accountable.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic about doing great work.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong tech-savvy competency; experience with Excel and Microsoft Teams specifically.
  • Strong organization skills, self-motivation, and learning agility to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bias for action and desire to make a meaningful difference alongside our current teammates.

  • Rising juniors, rising seniors, or graduate students preferred
  • Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field.
  • Added plus are students who are involved in extracurricular activities outside of their curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial reporting literacy to support the various components of the homebuilding process.
  • Gain insights into land acquisition and learn how to provide financial analysis to guide business decisions and identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to act as a bridge between sales, construction, and other departments, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Contribute to financial projects that enable the company to achieve its fiscal goals and support long-term business growth.
  • Assist with financial data analysis, forecasting, and reporting to drive informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in coding, debugging, and testing activities to support the software development team.
  • Collaborate with team members during sprints to complete user stories and resolve bugs.
  • Assist with routine tasks under the direct supervision of a software development mentor.
  • Contribute to the completion of project goals while adhering to scrum methodologies.
  • Provide additional support to the software development team to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Assist with reviewing, filing, and managing corporate records and maintaining the corporate records database.
  • Support the preparation of legal and compliance documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Review discovery documents, emails, and other materials as assigned.
  • Conduct legal and compliance research by analyzing laws, statutes, court rulings, and trends and preparing legal memoranda based on findings.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including handling mail, managing office equipment, maintaining calendars, and ordering supplies.
  • Participate in special projects and provide support to the legal team as needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret consumer data to identify trends and insights that inform marketing strategies.
  • Assist with the planning and executing of marketing and advertising campaigns, including social media, email, and web promotions.
  • Manage the intake, trafficking, and development of creative assets for media requests.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis to uncover opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Contribute to SEO initiatives by creating content for blog posts and updating website materials to optimize search engine rankings.
  • Assist with routine cash management tasks, including liquidity management, monitoring covenants, and maintaining the debt portfolio while helping forecast future funding needs and opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking of the homebuilding industry's financial statements and key metrics.
  • Contribute to creating timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Learn and apply intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with training in financial model development for acquisitions and other treasury-related projects.
  • Participate in special projects to enhance treasury operations, including process improvements and system implementations.
