About The Position

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company and a leading provider of aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions that safely & reliably extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture and repair critical turbine components for a range of engine platforms, supporting the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world. This is an hourly position with Local 475, offering a rate of pay of $27.26/hr with a 10% premium for working 2nd shift hours. The 2nd shift runs Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The core of this role involves the inspection of blades and vanes, which are critical components of jet engines. The position requires completing incoming and final inspections to ensure production processes are executed correctly according to defined work instructions. Inspectors will utilize various inspection and test equipment to verify products against specifications and must be capable of performing visual and dimensional inspections on different part types, as well as NDT Inspections (Airflow, surface finish, Magnetoscope, and core inspection). A key aspect of the role is to communicate product/process/documentation discrepancies and potential discrepancies to support continuous improvement efforts and suggest opportunities for company improvement. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing
  • Must be able to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Proven ability to take measurements.
  • Previous experience in basic dimensional/visual inspection required
  • Certify visual acuity to NAS-410 (corrective lenses allowed for eye exam)
  • Only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Complete incoming and final Inspection to ensure production is completing processes correctly as defined in the production work instructions.
  • Utilize inspection and test equipment (caliper, micrometer, comparator, ruler, meters, Etc.) to verify products to specification.
  • Perform the various visual and dimensional on the various part types.
  • Perform NDT Inspections (Airflow, surface finish, Magnetoscope, and core inspection).
  • Communicate product/process/documentation discrepancies and potential discrepancies to aid continuous improvement efforts.
  • Suggest opportunities for improvement for the company.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
