About The Position

Work as part of a team to provide engineering support to ensure reliability, availability, efficiency, and functionality of all equipment, processes and projects. This internship is part of the EIT (Engineer in Training) Program where incumbents will rotate through different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas. Areas include, but are not limited to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability and Chemical / Environmental. Interns will be assigned various engineering projects and must comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. The role requires the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.
• Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in one of our desired engineering disciplines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date.
• Must be in good academic standing with your school.

Responsibilities

• Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Luminant personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions.
• Rotate through different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas.
• Be assigned various engineering projects.
• Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
