About The Position

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Casey Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a full-time Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist to join their faculty. OHSU is a leading health and research university dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, research, and community service. The Casey Eye Institute offers comprehensive subspecialty care and supports robust training and research programs. The department is looking for a candidate who is board-certified or board-eligible and eligible for Oregon state medical licensure.

Requirements

Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology
Completion of an Accredited Ophthalmology Residency Program
Completion of an Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship
Eligible for medical licensure in Oregon and Washington

Responsibilities

Providing clinical care to Oculofacial Plastics patients of the University Hospital and Clinics and affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Engaging in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups as approved by Department Chair.
Providing staffing to residents seeing Oculofacial Plastics patients.
Teaching residents and house staff about Oculofacial Plastics and issues.
Performing research relevant to Oculoplastics.
Abiding by all state, federal and institutional compliance regulations and attending compliance training.
Performing requirements for Staff Members as outlined in Compliance Roles and Responsibilities in OHSU Hospitals and Clinics.
Completing specific compliance requirements as outlined by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners.
Carrying out responsibilities in an ethical, effective and professional manner, and reporting potential compliance problems using the reporting processes as outlined in the Code of Conduct.
Modeling ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance and personal integrity.
Understanding and complying with the OHSU Code of Conduct, departmental policies and procedures, and applicable rules and regulations.
Adhering to all Casey Eye Institute Service Excellence standards and expectations and attending all related mandatory training programs.
Documenting in medical records all patient care services delivered in support of third party bills.
Processing billings for hospital and clinic charges in accordance with HCFA, Medicaid, Champus and all commercial and managed care carriers, and assuring departmental compliance with all applicable third party payer regulations and contracts.
