Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards
Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice

Responsibilities

Implement occupational therapy programs and activities
Follow developed recovery plans
Deliver therapy treatments
Address the whole patient and see them as an individual
Design a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance patients' physical abilities and independence
Be adaptable to the needs of the patient and find joy in the variety of the work and settings
Collaborate with peers
Make referrals to help patients get the care they need to thrive
Ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere
