About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) for a 13-week travel assignment in Snyder, TX. This position involves guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), instructing on the use of adaptive equipment, monitoring and documenting patient progress, providing emotional encouragement, and preparing treatment areas. The role requires collaboration with a supervising Occupational Therapist (OT) to adjust treatment plans as needed.

Requirements

  • 2 years OTA experience in LTC setting is required
  • TX or compact license is required
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Executes specialized therapy plans designed by the OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination.
  • Teaches patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques.
  • Instructs patients and families on how to use special tools like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils.
  • Records detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting these findings to the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provides emotional encouragement to patients and trains caregivers on how to assist with home programs.
  • Prepares treatment areas, cleans equipment, and may handle administrative duties like scheduling and billing.
