Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
About The Position
Silver Lake Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide care for long-term acute care patients and help them improve their daily living activities. The hospital cares for higher-acuity patients who have not responded to short-term treatment at traditional general hospitals. The Occupational Therapy Assistant administers treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role provides direct care to adult and geriatric patients and contributes to program development, quality improvement, program assessment, and departmental policy and procedure development.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Current New Jersey OTA license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of hospital OTA experience.
- Experience with tracheas and ventilators.
Responsibilities
- Administer treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and program assessment.
- Contribute to departmental policy and procedure development.
