About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Acute Rehab, Lafayette, Indiana. The role involves assisting Occupational Therapists in assessing patients, developing treatment plans, implementing therapies, documenting progress, and educating patients and families. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited COTA Program with an active COTA certification in Indiana
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
• 1 year of experience in an Acute, Acute rehab or LTAC hospital setting.
• Current CPR certification
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations
• Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, dexterity and compassion

Nice To Haves

• High acuity experience such as PCU/ICU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical condition and well-being.
• Assist Occupational Therapists and other interdisciplinary healthcare providers.
• Assist in creating individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their physical goals.
• Assist with implementing therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Document patients' progress and communicate with other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.
