Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.
Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

Implement occupational therapy programs and activities.
Follow developed recovery plans.
Deliver therapy treatments.
Design a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance a patient's physical abilities and independence.
Adapt to the needs of the patient.
Collaborate with peers.
Make referrals to help patients get the care they need to thrive.
Ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
