About The Position

Salinas Valley Post-Acute in Salinas is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/OTA) to join their elite therapy team. This role involves working under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality therapeutic services and restorative interventions, focusing on ADLs, functional mobility, and compensatory strategies to improve resident independence. The position requires accurate and timely documentation of resident progress, effective communication with the interdisciplinary team, and educating residents and their families on home programs and safety practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to a supportive, team-oriented therapy department focused on resident-centered results.

Requirements

  • Current, valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for serving the post-acute and geriatric populations.

  • SNF experience is preferred, but New Graduates are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality therapeutic services and restorative interventions.
  • Deliver skilled treatments focusing on ADLs, functional mobility, and compensatory strategies to improve resident independence.
  • Monitor and document resident progress accurately and timely in accordance with California state and federal guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the OT, nursing staff, and medical team regarding resident status and discharge goals.
  • Educate residents and their families on home programs, safety practices, and the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented therapy department focused on resident-centered results.
