About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is seeking motivated, licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) for its growing locations in Bayonne and West Bergen, NJ. This role focuses on making a hands-on difference in the lives of older adults through FOX’s signature Geriatric House Calls™ model, delivering care where patients live. Working closely with a supervising Occupational Therapist, the OTA will execute individualized treatment plans, guide patients through exercises and functional activities, and help them regain strength, mobility, and confidence. This position is ideal for OTAs who value one-on-one patient interaction, want to see the direct impact of their work, and seek career growth within a supportive, team-based environment. As part of an interdisciplinary care team, the OTA will collaborate with PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Fitness Specialists, benefiting from built-in mentorship from their supervising OT and a clear path for professional development.
Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current CPR certification
- Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
- Exerting medium physical effort: lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly
- Performing CPR
- Providing moderate to maximum assistance with patient transfers and bed mobility, including repositioning a bed-bound patient alone
- Standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and extensive walking
- Performing repetitive movements of the upper extremities
- Driving to patient homes and senior living communities as part of the Geriatric House Calls™ model
- Wearing PPE when required
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by your supervising Occupational Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, observing and tracking their progress
- Document visits accurately and on time within FOX’s EMR system, in line with FOX’s Clinical Documentation standards
- Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed
