About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant at MultiCare provides direct patient treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The role applies service orientation and sound judgment to the comprehensive care of occupational therapy patients. This is a hospital-based outpatient clinic position with a high need for a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). The position is 0.4 FTE, day shift, with an 8-hour schedule.

Requirements

Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Washington.
Current BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of experience in adult rehabilitative services preferred.
Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT); the clinic has a high need for this certification.

Responsibilities

Perform occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and occupational training to improve functional ability.
Confer with the Occupational Therapist before beginning a treatment program regarding goals, treatment plans and procedures, modalities, and precautions.
Contact the supervising Occupational Therapist when direct intervention is needed to change a treatment plan or when medical problems require attention.
Recommend assistive devices and equipment as needed to improve patients’ function and independence at home.
Observe, record, and report patients’ reactions to treatment and changes in their conditions, and prepare clinical progress notes according to departmental policy.
Consult with rehabilitation team members and other healthcare personnel to provide a collaborative therapeutic approach suited to each patient’s needs.
