Occupational Therapy Assistant
About The Position
The Occupational Therapy Assistant functions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide patient care and support activities, as outlined in the patient's plan of treatment. In conjunction with the Occupational Therapist, this role utilizes a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for the development and/or rehabilitation of patients with physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, visual-motor, and functional deficits as related to Activities of Daily Living. The assistant is responsible for providing quality, cost-effective treatment to Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) customers, providing patient, family, and/or caregiver education, and submitting concise, accurate, and complete documentation and charges.
Requirements
- Current State of Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) licensure.
- Associate of Science (AS) degree.
Nice To Haves
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
