About The Position

The occupational therapist assistant is responsible for the implementation of the individualized treatment plan established by the occupational therapist under the direction of the occupational therapist. The OTA assesses and recommends, monitors and provides individualized treatment to the patient under the supervision of the occupational therapist. Documentation will be complete, accurate and completed in a timely fashion in accordance with state, federal and insurance regulations. They are also responsible for the education and direction of occupational therapy assistant students who are providing treatment in the clinic as well as maintaining the physical nature of the department and equipment. Each occupational therapy assistant will demonstrate yearly competencies and demonstration of professional development and maintaining current licensure. In addition, each OTA will perform community service, marketing or other duties deemed necessary by the department director. May be requested to be member of QI team. Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on information within the organization and provides a way of communication between staff members. Performs all procedures according to established policies and procedures of OCH and adheres to legal compliance policies and other regulatory issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in OTA required.
  • BLS certification or obtains within six months of hire.
