About The Position

Burger Rehabilitation Systems Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for their Pediatric Clinic. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a full benefit package. The company has been providing clinical excellence and client services since 1978, offering Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services across various settings including nursing homes, home health agencies, schools, and occupational health clinics. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy Assistants, associate's degree (or other 2-year degree).
  • Ability to obtain California Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
  • Must have California O.T.A. license.
  • Those staff who must drive on the job must hold a current California driver’s license and appropriate auto collision insurance.
  • Must be CPR certified.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of occupational therapy treatment under the direction of an OT.
  • Will have contact with the patient’s primary OT no less than once every two weeks.
  • Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referral to an OT.
  • Determine patient needs for services in collaboration with an OT.
  • Assist OT in developing treatment plans and techniques to implement plans.
  • Implement and modify treatment plans under OT supervision.
  • Monitor patient’s response to treatment.
  • Recommend to supervisor the termination of service.
  • Document and maintain service-related records, as directed by supervising OT.
  • Assist in the development of treatment protocols.
  • Identify own continuing education needs.
  • Provide in-service education and community education within the scope of knowledge base.
  • Supervise aides and volunteers.
  • Comply with established agency and service standards.
  • Does not complete Eval/Re-Eval but may have input on re-evals.
  • May do weekly progress notes but OT is responsible for monitoring content.
  • May complete discharge summary; however, OT must countersign.
  • Telephone orders to physician are responsibility of OT.
