As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you help patients get well and bring their power back. You are a healer and a helper, adept at addressing the whole patient and seeing them as an individual, executing programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance physical abilities and independence. You are adaptable to patient needs and find joy in the variety of work and settings. You are a teammate looking for collaboration with peers and happy to make referrals for comprehensive patient care. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards
  • Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice

Responsibilities

  • Implement occupational therapy programs and activities
  • Follow developed recovery plans
  • Deliver therapy treatments
  • Address the whole patient and see them as an individual
  • Execute a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical abilities and independence
  • Be adaptable to the needs of the patient and find joy in the variety of the work and the settings
  • Collaborate with peers
  • Make referrals to help your patient get the care they need to thrive
  • Ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere
