About The Position

Centra Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for its 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility. Under the guidance of a supervising OTR/L, the OTA gathers relevant patient information and implements comprehensive treatment programs using varied techniques and activities. The assistant reviews and modifies treatment in response to changing patient needs, identifies equipment and discharge needs, and provides care to diverse diagnostic populations. The role includes documenting care in accordance with hospital policy and the State Practice Act, observing treatment outcomes and progress toward goals, recommending changes to the supervising OTR/L when needed, and communicating and collaborating with support personnel about treatment orders as directed.

Requirements

• Current state licensure.
• Current BLS/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of a supervising OTR/L, acquire pertinent patient information and implement comprehensive programs using varied techniques and treatment activities.
• Review and modify treatment in response to changing patient needs.
• Identify equipment and discharge needs.
• Be aware of the patient's injury or diagnosis and take necessary precautions, observing relevant indications and contraindications.
• Provide treatment to diverse diagnostic populations and complete supporting documentation according to hospital policy and the State Practice Act.
• Observe treatment effects and progress toward short- and long-term goals, and recommend changes to the supervising OTR/L when needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with support personnel regarding treatment orders as directed by the supervising OTR/L.
