About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to implement and provide direct services in the form of group or individual therapy to persons with severe and persistent mental illness under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This position will function as a member of the treatment team and make recommendations to the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding re-evaluations of patients’ level of functioning. This position provides professional guidance for Occupational Therapy fieldwork students (interns). This position supports the mission of the organization through active participation in clinical efforts to provide treatment in a recovery-oriented environment. The foundation of a recovery-oriented environment is respect and a commitment to safety in the least restrictive manner possible.

Requirements

Current license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
Two years of experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring automobile operation).

Nice To Haves

Successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.

Responsibilities
