About The Position

The KVCC Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Faculty/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) will collaborate with the OTA Program Director to develop instructional materials, teach assigned content, advise students, evaluate student performance, and participate in ongoing program assessment and accreditation requirements. This role also involves active participation in the OTA Advisory Board and the KVCC community as a faculty member. A key responsibility is to develop, evaluate, and coordinate all fieldwork education sites and provide oversight for all fieldwork education functions. The individual must stay current with developments in Occupational Therapy practice, membership, certification, professional development, teaching and learning methods, evaluation, and curriculum design.

Requirements

  • An Occupational Therapy Practitioner
  • A minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body.
  • Hold a current Maine OTA license or be eligible for licensure in the State of Maine.
  • At least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapy assistant
  • Documented practice and teaching expertise in physical rehabilitation or psychosocial occupational therapy practice, supervision/management, and fieldwork education.
