About The Position

The Occupational Therapist provides services to patients in accordance with occupational therapy principles and practices and Reliant Rehabilitation’s standards. The role includes screening and evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, discharge planning, case management, and supervising assistants and rehabilitation technicians. The therapist fosters positive relationships with clients and facilities, provides high-quality care, and complies with applicable state and federal regulations. The Occupational Therapist supports patients’ functional abilities through direct care, oversight, and coordination of services. The role also contributes to a strong occupational therapy program, advances clinical and professional skills through collaboration and continuing education, and follows infection-control and environmental-safety protocols. The therapist applies relevant billing models and treatment guidelines to support appropriate clinical goals and outcomes.

Requirements

Graduated from an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.
Holds a current and valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for effective communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

Provide, oversee, and coordinate occupational therapy services to enhance patients’ functional abilities.
Screen and evaluate patients; develop and implement treatment plans; plan discharges; and manage cases.
Provide clinical supervision and consultation to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
Supervise COTAs and rehabilitation technicians during individual and group therapy sessions, supporting effective resource use and skill development in accordance with State Practice Acts, OBRA, and company policies.
Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the occupational therapy program.
Advance clinical and professional competencies through collaboration, self-directed learning, and continuing education.
Maintain a valid state license and stay informed about developments in occupational therapy and healthcare.
Apply relevant billing models and treatment guidelines to deliver care that meets clinical standards and achieves appropriate goals and outcomes.
Follow infection-control and environmental-safety protocols within the facility.
Communicate and document effectively in English.
Maintain professional conduct and comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
