About The Position

This is a remote, part-time contract position for an Occupational Therapist in the Los Angeles County region. The Occupational Therapist will work directly with Senior homeowners participating in the Older Adults Home Modification Program. The role involves conducting in-home visual and written assessments to evaluate mobility, functional abilities, and the need for adaptive equipment. Responsibilities include collaborating with Construction Project Managers to develop written home modification plans, providing guidance on adaptive equipment use for optimal care outcomes, and overseeing scopes of work and approving modifications to ensure client-centered results. The therapist will also perform in-home follow-up assessments post-modifications to document progress, verify compliance, and provide client education and training on adaptive equipment.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Certification and licensure: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy; California Board of Occupational Therapy.
  • Proficiency in identifying appropriate adaptive equipment and teaching clients how to use it effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients.
  • Proven ability to document patient progress effectively and adjust plans when necessary.
  • Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to perform in-home assessments all over Los Angeles County during normal agency business hours, Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm.
  • Approximately 10+ hours/week, including at least one full day per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in patient care for the aging preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and understanding their unique challenges is highly desirable.
