About The Position

Mission Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, develop care plans, and use therapeutic procedures and techniques to improve function in line with each patient’s rehabilitation diagnosis and prognosis. The role includes coordinating therapeutic care, communicating evaluation results to patients, families, and appropriate staff, mentoring other staff, and participating in patient-care resource management and organizational improvement. Services may be provided off-site as needed by the department and within the scope of the role. The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients’ functional abilities and needs and creates individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team. The therapist delivers evidence-based interventions, monitors progress and adjusts plans, documents care and outcomes, educates patients and families, and collaborates with interdisciplinary partners to support safe environments and transitions of care. The role may also provide guidance to therapy assistants or students. A Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and a current North Carolina license to practice Occupational Therapy are required. No prior experience is required, and new graduates are eligible. Clinical affiliations involving a wide variety of acute-care procedures—particularly orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary care, and burns or open wounds—are helpful but preferred rather than required.
