About The Position

Amedisys is hiring an Occupational Therapist to provide home health occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care. The role is part-time and benefits-eligible, with a base rate of $65–$75 that converts to per-visit compensation. Mileage reimbursement is offered.

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery, ensuring the plan of care addresses assessment-identified problems or documents why they are not addressed. The position is accountable for the safety and effectiveness of care, timely and accurate documentation, and supervision of a home health aide when an RN is not active in the case.

Requirements

• Hold a current license to practice occupational therapy in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by ACOTE of AOTA, or successor organizations of ACOTE.
• Be eligible to take, or have successfully completed, the NBCOT entry-level certification examination for occupational therapists.
• Have one year of related occupational therapy experience to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills to safely provide services. Applicants with less than one year of experience require approval from regional clinical leaders and appropriate mentoring and/or an established residency program.
• Hold current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery under a physician-approved plan of care.
• Ensure the plan of care addresses problems identified in the assessment, or document the rationale for problems not addressed.
• Maintain accountability for the safety and effectiveness of occupational therapy service delivery.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Supervise the home health aide when an RN is not active in the case.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
