Evaluates and treats patients with disabilities, injuries and/or disease in accordance with the written and signed prescription and/or referral of a state licensed physician or other State authorized practitioner. This role involves administering direct patient care, utilizing thorough evaluation techniques to establish realistic goals, and designing and implementing treatment plans to improve patient coordination, movement, and function. The therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, provide patient remediation, and treat patients with acute or developmental disabilities using various methods. Instruction in daily living skills for patients and caregivers is also a key component, aiming to promote independence. The position also includes participation in quality improvement activities, arranging for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and making recommendations for follow-up care upon discharge.
