The Occupational Therapist, PRN, Acute Care position is responsible for performing specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing and goniometry, and teaching occupational therapy procedures to patients, families, and other health personnel. This role involves performing individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members, providing written summaries of diagnostic findings, and planning intervention strategies. The therapist will communicate effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses, with work potentially performed in homes, agencies, preschools, or clinics. Treatment services include neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, and equipment demonstration to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status. The position also requires documentation of goals, objectives, and progress, participation in IFSP as needed, chart review for quality assurance, attending relevant workshops, and participating in staff and committee meetings.
