About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an acute care setting. This is a full-time position with a Tuesday-Saturday schedule. Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) is a distinguished teaching hospital recognized nationally, offering a wide range of clinical specialties including Level 1 trauma services, transplantation, Level III NICU, LVAD implantation, Stroke Center, and a dedicated cancer hospital. Therapists have the opportunity to rotate positions, expand their treatment skills across various diagnoses, and develop clinical specializations. BSWIR at BUMC thrives in the fast-paced acute care environment, supporting patients through critical events like trauma, myocardial infarction, stroke, organ transplants, and intensive care stays. We provide a robust professional support and development system, including a New Graduate Program, Advanced Practice Mentoring, Board Certification support, and training for clinical instructors to ensure your success.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Occupational Therapist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
  • Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
  • Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
  • Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
  • Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
