About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time Occupational Therapist to join their growing multi-disciplinary team in their Inpatient Rehabilitation hospital. This position involves four (4) 10-hour shifts, Friday through Monday, covering the inpatient rehab unit with the opportunity to cross-train to their Day Neuro center. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat medically complex patients recovering from stroke, neurological injury, orthopedic conditions, brain injury, SCI, limb loss, and other acute diagnoses, helping them regain independence and return to meaningful daily activities. The team is described as collaborative, patient-centered, and committed to clinical excellence and strong functional outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a desire to participate in hospital initiatives and program development and work well in a team environment. Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required

Nice To Haves

  • Acute or IPR experience preferred
  • Previous experience with the adult Neuro population preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with physical, cognitive, and functional impairments.
  • Addresses ADLs, IADLs, upper extremity function, cognition, vision, and safety awareness.
  • Develops, implements, and modifies patient-centered treatment plan in accordance with the patient's need and physician direction.
  • Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
  • Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community, vocational or academic activities.
  • Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
  • Performs other professional duties for the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
