About The Position

The Occupational Therapist, Acute Care position is a full-time role within the High Point Medical Center - Acute Care Rehabilitation Department. This role focuses on providing comprehensive patient care assessment and treatment, ensuring evaluations and treatments are functional and meet the standard of practice. The therapist will use sound professional judgment to establish treatment plans with realistic goals, encourage patient and family involvement, and recognize/respond to changes in patient condition. The position also involves supervising support staff, maintaining accurate documentation, meeting financial and productivity standards, and participating in process management to optimize service quality and efficiency. Additionally, the role includes promoting professional development, conducting in-service training, staying updated on changes in the profession, and communicating effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. The therapist will also provide age/developmentally appropriate patient care.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. degree from accredited occupational therapy school.
• Current licensure in the state of applicable state.
• CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C

• Completes written patent evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges and departmental statistics, and ICD-10 codes as appropriate.
• Maintains patient records in a systematic order and documentation is legible.
• Ensures that documentation is legible.
• Meets department financial and productivity standards.
• Understands the budgeted expectation.
• Maintains productivity standards.
• Adjusts individual schedules to meet the needs of the patient and department.
• Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services.
