About The Position

Responsible for ensuring the delivery of outstanding occupational therapy service including evidence-based patient care and patient engagement on an individual level and departmentally. This role involves performing clinic care and occupational therapist duties in accordance with the needs of the clinic and patients. The therapist will promote and utilize appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical, cognitive, neurologic, psychosocial, and functional needs of the patient population. Establishing occupational therapy interventions based upon evaluation and examination, physician orders, and patient goals for therapy is crucial. The position requires competent performance of appropriate occupational therapy techniques and procedures, and ensuring continuity of patient care through communication with other healthcare professionals. Recommendations for needed patient care equipment prior to discharge and assistance with acquisition are also part of the role. Documentation of findings, patient progress, and all procedures performed within established time frames, along with submitting patient billing daily and instructing patients/family members in home programs, are essential duties. Demonstrating effective time management and complying with quality improvement standards are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy
  • Current occupational therapy license in the state in which they practice
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities
