About The Position

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician and by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Provide offsite community educations, and screenings. Administers occupational therapy services including: evaluation, examination, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention and outcomes as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Coordinate delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (COTA, etc.). May work with Inpatients, Outpatients, Home Health patients and Swing bed patients. Assists in the successful operation and management of the Swing Bed Program.

Requirements

  • Colorado State Occupational Therapy Licensure
  • graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current BCLS (CPR) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Occupational therapy preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job
  • Effective 2015, occupational therapist shall maintain and demonstrate continuing professional competency as defined by DORA
