About The Position
Baptist Medical Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehab Team. This is a PRN position which will provide coverage for at least 3 Day shifts per month and participate in a weekend coverage rotation. The Occupational Therapist will support the Rehab Team by working with a multidisciplinary team in an acute care setting. Caseload includes various diagnoses - neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and general medical.
Requirements
- 1 or more years of Acute Care Occupational Therapist experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy Required
- Licensed Occupational Therapist from FL Department of Health Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Required
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and treats patients in an adult acute care setting.
- Provides minimal outpatient care, mainly for neuro patients and upper extremity wounds (job competency training available).
- Works in a team environment with other Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Provides ongoing patient and family education.
- Works with multidisciplinary teams outside of Rehab Services (hospitalists, physician specialists, nursing, and social services.)
