About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neurorehabilitation is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time, salaried position. This role focuses on client-centered, functional therapy, engaging patients in real-world activities to help them regain functional capabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in an autonomous setting with a flexible schedule, values collaboration, and has experience with neurorehabilitation. Rehab Without Walls is a revolutionary neurorehabilitation program that moves individuals outside of institutional settings into their natural home and community environment, designed to help those with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or strokes regain functional capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university with an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current, unrestricted license as an Occupational Therapist by state in which practicing
  • Current CPR Certification
  • A minimum of one year’s work experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
  • Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
  • Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with neurorehabilitation is highly desired
  • Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological diagnoses preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans
  • Regularly re-assess effectiveness of treatment plans
  • Attend staffing meetings and family conferences
  • Perform discharge evaluations
  • Make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety
  • Provide referral and education resources
  • Communicate patient’s needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services and family members
  • Communicates with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care and enhance patient outcomes
