About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a part-time or full-time, in-person position in a school setting. Whether you’re an experienced school-based OT or just beginning your school therapy journey, we’d love to hear from you! The position is in an in-person, K–12 public school environment and will run from August 2026 to June 2027. Ampersand Therapy is a local, women- and therapist-operated company founded by providers who understand what it’s like to work in schools. Our mission is to build a community of therapists who feel supported, appreciated, and empowered to make a difference. We proudly serve school districts throughout Western Washington and across several other states. You’ll work alongside a small, passionate team of school-based specialists—some of whom are still active providers in schools themselves. We offer mentorship and support, especially for newer school-based specialists, and are deeply committed to equity, sustainability, and community involvement.

Requirements

Must hold (or be eligible for) Missouri OT license
Must hold (or be willing to obtain) MoPro License

Nice To Haves

Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Provide school-based OT services including assessments, treatment, and consultation
Conduct evaluations and write reports
Participate in IEP meetings and write IEP goals
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
Maintain timely documentation and progress notes
