About The Position

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for completing evaluations and providing treatment to assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and practice. This role also involves completing all documentation of services, maintaining updated licensure, and adhering to safety and confidentiality protocols. The position requires promoting effective working relationships and participating in quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Iowa licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • CPR Certification Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from accredited school preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice.
  • Plan and provide treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice.
  • Complete all documentation of services per department standards.
  • Maintain updated license and submit evidence of status to the Director of Rehab Services within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.
  • Attend all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
  • Follow the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies.
  • Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
