Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- Must have initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Must hold a valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs
- Develop their recovery plans
- Deliver occupational therapy
- Design a program that will restore, reinforce, and enhance their physical abilities and independence
- Train patients and caregivers on the skills they need to promote independence and productivity
- Make referrals to help your patient get the care they need to thrive
