Occupational Therapist (2548) - Department of Public Health - (EXEMPT)
About The Position
Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital’s Psychiatric Occupational Therapy Department is hiring a Temporary Exempt Occupational Therapist. Under the general supervision of the Senior Occupational Therapist, the role assesses, plans, and implements mental health occupational therapy interventions for individuals and groups in the psychiatric emergency department, inpatient acute unit, sub-acute unit, and jail-psych unit. The role may also perform other duties as assigned or required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a shift ranging from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM. Two weekend days per month are required. The position is onsite. Applicants must hold a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT).
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with chronic and acute mental illness in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Experience working with people who have mental health conditions with co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Experience facilitating psychiatric occupational therapy individual and group treatment sessions.
- Experience using Motivational Interviewing skills.
- Experience using Sensory Modulation interventions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and implement evidence-based occupational therapy group and individual treatment sessions.
- Document evaluations and treatment sessions.
- Communicate and collaborate with treatment team members and patients regarding treatment progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
