About The Position
Ultimate Therapy is looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the therapy department at Autumn Lake at Norwalk. You'll work with residents to improve functional abilities, increase independence, and build the skills needed to participate more successfully in daily life.
Requirements
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist license required
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Skilled nursing experience preferred, but not required
- New graduates are welcome to apply
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents and develop personalized occupational therapy plans of care
- Provide interventions addressing activities of daily living, upper extremity function, coordination, balance, cognition, and safety
- Help residents develop strategies for greater independence with everyday routines
- Assess progress and adjust treatment approaches according to resident needs
- Recommend adaptive equipment and provide resident and caregiver education
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation
- Partner with PT, SLP, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate resident care
