This position is part of the Wadsworth Expansion initiative, which includes the addition of an orthopaedic hand surgery provider serving patients at this location. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain and enhance their ability to participate in meaningful daily activities. Working with individuals affected by injury, surgery, stroke, cognitive challenges, or age-related changes, you will provide comprehensive therapeutic services that promote independence, improve function, and support overall quality of life. Your expertise will empower patients to confidently manage self-care, return to work, and navigate everyday responsibilities. A caregiver in this position works varying hours; required to work 2 late nights a week; Saturday rotation 3x year; open to float if needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.
  • Assess patient ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills and design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
  • Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities and document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
  • Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel.
  • Act a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.
