About The Position

The Occupational Therapist works under the Early Intervention Program Director as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to children from birth to three years of age in a family-centered program. The Occupational Therapist works directly with children and their families in the children’s natural environments, including, but not limited to, the children’s homes and/or daycare settings. They coordinate with families, multidisciplinary team members, and outside providers, as appropriate, to maximize positive developmental and learning outcomes for children and families served.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved program in occupational therapy
  • Valid and current license as an OT in Massachusetts
  • Demonstrated commitment to student progress, ability to multitask and take initiative in multitasking
  • Finds enjoyment working with a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Completing assessments and writing objectives
  • Design and implement functional activities that address students’ occupational therapy needs.
  • Provide consultation and training to classroom staff, ensuring effective strategies are used daily.
  • Consulting with classroom staff regarding students' OT needs
  • Offer direct therapy services when needed, applying evidence-based techniques
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to IEP evaluations and ongoing student support.
