About The Position

The Occupational Therapist, Acute Care position at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a full-time role within the Acute Care Rehabilitation department. This role is responsible for providing patient care assessment and treatment, maintaining accurate documentation, and meeting department financial and productivity standards. The therapist will also participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency, promote professional development, and lead staff and/or program development projects. Effective communication and networking within the profession and community are essential. The role requires providing appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of applicable state
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Communicates professionally with physicians, nurses, other health care providers and provides quality care for patients
  • Ability to communicate with patients of all age groups appropriate to the level of comprehension
  • Knowledge, clinical skills, and understanding of the patient throughout the entire span of life
  • Demonstrates leadership skills required to manage self and teams to accomplish department goals
  • Flexible
  • Ability to work effectively with the team

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care assessment and treatment.
