About The Position

Staff Occupational Therapists are responsible for direct patient care, evaluating and treating a variety of individuals based upon setting. The successful candidate will exhibit strong customer service skills, clinical skills, and patient outcomes. They must practice with high moral and professional standards and be driven toward continuous professional development. Effective time management and teamwork skills are an essential quality that will allow success in contributing to the operation of the Health System. They have responsibilities towards supervision of assistants involved in the care of their patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program in Occupational Therapy
  • Must have passed the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification Exam and obtained Certification
  • Possess or be eligible for Ohio License as an Occupational Therapist
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • De-escalation training within 6 months
  • Prior experience delivering direct patient care to individuals with a variety of deficits, including orthopedic, neurologic, developmental, and cognitive.

  • Master's Degree
  • 1-2 years of prior experience delivering direct patient care to individuals with a variety of deficits, which may include: orthopedic, neurologic, developmental, and cognitive shortfalls.
  • Consideration will be given to new graduates with strong clinical and professional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Practices Occupational Therapy consistent with, and is knowledgeable of, the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Effective time management skills including ability to meet productivity standards with compliance and quality.
  • Help facilitate coordination of care with other medical professionals, community resources, patients and caregivers to improve health, wellness and quality of life.
  • Effectively directs the work of and assists with skill development of Occupational Therapy assistants.
