About The Position

Visiting Rehab and Nursing Services (VRNS) is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to provide home health services throughout Lowell, Massachusetts. The Occupational Therapist provides skilled therapy in patients’ homes to improve functional abilities, address everyday challenges, and promote independence through individualized treatment. The role offers flexible scheduling, compensation of up to $160 per visit, mileage reimbursement, supportive clinical and administrative leadership, and ongoing training and professional development. VRNS is clinician-owned and clinician-focused, and its ABI Waiver Program helps promote consistent scheduling while preserving flexibility and independence for Per Diem clinicians.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapist (OT) license.
• At least one year of clinical experience.
• Afternoon availability.

Nice To Haves

• Previous home care experience.
• Monday–Friday availability.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide skilled interventions to improve strength, coordination, and functional performance.
• Address activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assess home safety and recommend adaptive equipment and modifications.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic strategies and home exercise programs.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
