About The Position

Valley Medical Group, an independent, primary care focused multi-specialty organization, is seeking an occupational therapist with certification or interest in hand therapy to work part time in their Amherst office. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with post ops, splinting, primarily orthopedic/neuromusculoskelatal disorders, and be confident treating shoulders to hands. The position is outpatient only with a flexible schedule of 16 hours per week in Amherst. It primarily involves treating patients with hand, arm, and shoulder disorders. There is an opportunity to participate in leadership positions and a shareholder opportunity after two years. The role offers competitive compensation, a sign-on bonus, and generous vacation. Responsibilities include conducting clinical evaluations, developing care plans, following a patient panel, providing consultations to primary care and other medical staff related to physical therapy care, and participating in practice-wide health care initiatives such as smoking cessation and chronic pain management. Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience working as a hand therapist
  • Graduate of an accredited OT (OTD) program
  • Plan to be CHT (certified hand therapist)
  • Licensure in Massachusetts
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a team
  • Capacity to deliver care via telehealth

Nice To Haves

  • National specialization or advanced clinical skills are preferred
  • Experience in orthopedics strongly preferred
