About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking a School Age Occupational Therapist for Brooklyn Blue Feather in Sheepshead Bay, NY. This role is part of a 10-month program with an additional 30-day summer session. The Occupational Therapist will work within the classroom setting to support students with developmental disabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Occupational Therapy
• New York State License required
• Ability to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities.
• Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data.
• Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed.
• Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create an environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction.
• Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
