Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current state license to practice Occupational Therapy
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Responsibilities

Perform occupational therapy evaluations and assessments based on resident needs
Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving daily living skills, mobility, cognition, safety, and functional independence
Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments according to physician orders and established plans of care
Help residents improve motor skills, coordination, strength, reasoning abilities, and ability to complete activities of daily living
Incorporate meaningful therapeutic activities to support resident goals, including dressing, grooming, eating, mobility, and other functional tasks
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to promote independence and safety
Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications when appropriate
Participate in discharge planning and assist residents and families with transition goals
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
Provide clinical direction and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants
Promote a safe, organized, and positive rehabilitation environment
