About The Position

Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join their team at the San Marco Rehab facility. This role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services, including evaluations, treatment planning, implementation, and patient education, in a fast-paced rehabilitation clinic environment.

Requirements

  • Must be duly licensed in the State of Florida to practice occupational therapy.
  • Hand therapist certification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out individually designed programs of occupational therapy treatment for patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality, effective patient care.
  • Ability to perform duties in an efficient and independent manner with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience with medical software and EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and assessment of patients referred to the CENTER for occupational therapy needs.
  • Formulation of specific care plans and goals for each patient relative to occupational therapy needs.
  • With physician approval, implementation of the occupational therapy services defined in the patient care plans.
  • Participate in plan of care reviews, patient case review conferences, patient assessment and reassessments.
  • Ensure completion of all required documentation of patient care activities.
  • Provide necessary education services of the patient and family members when appropriate.
  • Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the CENTER.
  • Participates in center in-service activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean facility, including physical plant and equipment maintenance and supply inventory upkeep.
  • Supervise, as needed, the administration of occupational therapy services by occupational therapy assistants.
  • Supervise OTR/COTA therapy students as directed by the Clinical Site Coordinator.
  • Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Site Coordinator as directed.
