About The Position

This position will be based at an outpatient neurological and orthopedic clinic. The Occupational Therapist will provide therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The role involves monitoring the treatment activities of COTA’s and aides, completing evaluations of assigned patients, and planning and providing treatment in accordance with established standards of care and practice. The therapist will also complete all documentation of services per department standards, attend required safety training, and follow hospital exposure control plans. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating respect and regard for the dignity of all individuals and promoting effective working relations within the team and across departments. Maintaining an updated license and submitting evidence of status to supervisor/manager is also required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited OT school.
  • Successful completion of clinical internship.
  • Current State OT license.
  • BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants with experience in both neurological and orthopedic specialties is preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience/rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitors the treatment activities of COTA’s and aides.
  • Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice.
  • Plans and provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice.
  • Completes all documentation of services per department standards.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job related hazards.
  • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Maintains updated license and submits evidence of status to supervisor/manager within two weeks of receipt of new or updated license.
