About The Position

May Institute's May School in West Springfield, MA, is seeking temporary coverage for an Occupational Therapist to cover an upcoming parental leave. Our school offers full-day, year-round educational services to children and adolescents ages 3 - 22. We focus on building communication, social, behavioral, vocational, and academic skills. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved program in occupational therapy
  • Valid and current license as an OT in Massachusetts
  • Demonstrated commitment to student progress
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities, with a full range of skills and abilities required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative OT services to students
  • Assist classroom staff with conducting assessments and developing IEP goals as needed
  • Develop formal and informal programs
  • Developing functional activities to meet the needs of the students
  • Train and provide consultation to staff as needed
  • Collaborating with classroom staff regarding students' OT needs
  • Performing related occupational therapy services as assigned.
  • Provide consultation notes to be sent home to parents weekly
