About The Position

Westminster Oaks is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to work 30 hours a week, Monday through Friday (with some weekends). The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation for a general rehabilitation caseload. This role involves participating in the interdisciplinary team process, providing teaching and training to caregiving staff, and contributing to clinical program development. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist will supervise other therapists, assistants, technicians, aides, and students as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Professional Licensure where required by state of law
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective clinical judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Utilizes effective time management skills.
• Meet ASHA requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• two years clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, identify, and treat physical and cognitive deficits that interfere with the resident's ability to perform daily life activities.
• Follow recommendations on MD's orders.
• Design restorative programs and train residents in the use of adaptive equipment.
• Develop and enter Care Plans in the system for each of the resident's needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
• Perform Resident Home Assessments as part of the discharge process.
• Perform Resident's screening during the admission process and quarterly & annual screening to determine the need for therapy.
